Mandela condition fine

Mandela condition fine, leaves hospital
Former South African President Nelson Mandela left the hospital on Sunday after receiving treatment for a stomach complaint.

Mandela entered hospital on Saturday based on advice from a group of doctors who said he needed specialized treatment for a chronic abdominal ailment.

It had been feared that Mandela's condition was deteriorating, given his age of 93.

But South African President Jacob Zuma said in a statement on Sunday that the doctors said there is nothing to worry about and that Mandela is in good health.

Zuma added that Madela was discharged from the hospital.

Zuma told the country not to panic and said Mandela is surrounded by his family and is relaxed and comfortable.

Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his campaign to abolish the racist policy of apartheid in the then white-ruled South Africa.
