79th Sivagiri pilgrimage begins in Kerala

Kerala, the 79th Sivagiri pilgrimage has been inaugurated by Chief
Minister Oommen Chandy at Varkala on Friday at a mammoth gathering.
Recalling the priceless contribution of Sree Narayana Guru in bringing
about social reformation in Kerala, the Chief Minister said that the
Guru harmoniously combined spiritual and material thoughts.
Chandy said a number of developmental activities will be taken up in Shivagiri. Swami Prakashananda, Union Minister K .V. Thomas, KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala and a host of eminent persons graced the function.
