AAP: Air Force base in Pathankhot has exposed
Air Force base in Pathankhot has exposed the preparedness of the both central and state government in a big way. Both the SAD-BJP government in Punjab and the BJP led government in Centre has been found wanting it defending the country.
The troubling signs are that there seems a probable alliance between the drug mafia and terrorists in Punjab’s border areas, an issue which Aam Aadmi Party has been raising for a long time now.
“We pay tributes to the brave soldiers who were martyred in Pathankhot. The Airbase attack has raised some vital and dreadful questions.
The people behind the attack are clearly a nexus of corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and drug mafia needs to be properly investigated. Any laxity in investigating this nexus will result in compromising the security of the nation,” Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann said in a statement here today.
What needs to be particularly investigated is the role of Gurdaspur SP Salvinder Singh in the incident. The central government needs to set up independent investigation into the fact that high ranking officials in the state of Punjab are involved in the drug racket.
Political patronage of the drug mafia for the past many years have further deteriorated the fragile situation in the border state. It’s a matter of National Security and no amount of political bias or influence should come in the way of the free and fair investigation of the dreaded incident.
