EU nations agree to speed up deportation of failed asylum seekers mainly from poor African nations

Oct 9,  8:10 AM European Union (EU) nations have agreed to speed up the deportation of failed asylum seekers. In a meeting at Luxemburg Thursday, EU leaders decided to tighten border controls and reduce the incentive for people to come to the continent in the first place for economic reasons. Interior ministers from the European Union endorsed a dedicated programme to send back those they described as Economic migrants -- those from poor African nations and not refugees from conflict-torn Middle East countries. After the talks, Luxemburg Minister Jean Asselborn, whose country holds the European Union presidency, told reporters that those who do not require international protection must return to their countries of origin. Europe this year is facing its worst migration crisis since World War - II, as nearly six lakhs people have flooded the European countries.
