| India, South Korea to upgrade relations to special strategic partnership level |
![]() India and South Korea have decided to upgrade their relations to special strategic partnership level. This was stated in a joint statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Park Geun Hye in Seoul today. The two countries also signed seven agreements of mutual cooperation which includes an agreement on avoidance of double taxation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on a two day visit to South Korea, today held talks with the President of South Korea Park Geun-Hye in Seoul. The present visit of the Prime Minister to South Korea is focused on enhancing economic ties between the two countries. South Korean companies are expected to enhance their participation in make in India programme in a substantial manner. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be meeting Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon later in the day. |
