NCP द्वारा तोड़ फोड़ और पुलिस देखती रही तमाशा !

महाराष्ट्र के बिजली वितरण के स्केम को आम आदमी पार्टी महाराष्ट्र द्वारा मीडिया में कांग्रेस-NCP की तात्कालिक सरकार की मिलीभगत का नाम उजागर करने से आज 22-02-204 को NCP के कार्यकर्ता चकाला अँधेरी स्थित आम आदमी पार्टी के कार्यालय पर हमला किया | कार्यालय के बहार टंगे बैनर पर स्याही फेकी गयी और श्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल जी के कट आउट को जलाया गया | यह सब होते समय MIDC पुलिस थाने के हद में आने वाले पुलिसकर्मी सब तमाशा देखते रहे | NCP के कार्यकर्ताओ के हमले  के सम्बन्ध में जब श्री मयंक गाँधी ‘आप’ की तरफ से और उत्तर पश्चिम लोकसभा मुंबई क्षत्र के उम्मीदवार और ‘’आप’’ के राष्ट्रीय कार्यकारिणी सदस्य जब MIDC पुलिस ठाणे, NCP के खिलाफ रिपोर्ट दर्ज करने गये तो उन्हें और ‘आप’ के कुछ कर्येकर्ताओ को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया |
हम इस घटना की निंदा करते है तथा यह चेतावनी देते है की इस तरह की राजनिति, गुंडागर्दी हम नही सहेंगे | महाराष्ट्र की गृह मंत्री NCP के होते हुए पुलिस की निष्क्रियता मंत्रालय द्वारा दिए हुए आदेश के तहत एक  साजिश है यह बात स्पष्ट है | NCP के नए हमलो से महाराष्ट्र की जनता गुमराह नही होगी क्युकी वह ‘आप’ की वैकल्पिक उम्मीदवारी चाहती है | श्री मयंक गाँधी  तथा अन्य साथियों को तुरंत रिहा किया जाये अन्यथा हम इसके खिलाफ हर तरह से आवाज़ उठाएंगे |

New Delhi to host 64th National Basketball Championship for Men & Women

New Delhi, 24th February 2014: Delhiites will have a unique opportunity to come up close and personal with the the best Indian Men and Women Basketball Players as New Delhi gets ready to host 64th National Basketball Championship for Men & Women from 26th February to 5th March, 2014 at Thyagaraj  Stadium.  The Basketball Federation of India organised and IMG-Reliance supported event will feature many of the players who made the country proud by winning the Gold and Bronze medals in the Senior Men and Women’s Basketball events, respectively, at the recently concluded 2014 Lusofonia Games held in Goa.

Defending champions Uttarakhand Men will hope for a repeat of their last years breath taking performance. In the Women’s category, Indian Railways with an unblemished record of last six years will look forward to maintain their dominance once again. In all 51 teams, 27 men and 24 women will participate in the country’s top most competition played on League–cum–Knock-out basis. Top 10 teams of the previous year ranking are grouped in Pool A’ & B’ (Level I).  The winner will take home Rs 1,00,000 while the first and second runners-up will receive Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. The rest of the teams will be playing the qualifying league in the Pools ‘C,D,E,F’ for a chance to be promoted to Level 1 for the 65th Senior National Basketball Championship. The competition will take place on three indoor basketball Courts of Thyagaraj Stadium. Nivia Pro Touch is the official basketball for this Championship.

NBA Hall of Fame Coach Del Harris will be a guest of honor for opening ceremonies on 26th February and will be conducting a “Train The Trainers” Coaching Clinic during the Championship.

The National Championship will also serve as a selection ground for upcoming 17th Asian Games to be held in Incheon, South Korea and players from all over the country would be putting their best foot forward therby raising the level of competition.

‘Coaches Clinic’ will be held on 27th February 2014 from 11am to 1pm at the Tyagraj Stadium in New Delhi for the local as well as the participating team coaches. Del Harris NBA Hall of Fame Coach and Scott Flemming, Men’;s National Basketball Team Head Coach will be conducting the Clinic. The clinic is open to all coaches and/or players.

About Del Harris
Del Harris has coached basketball at every level over the past 53 years, spanning seven decades. He started as a coach in junior high and coached four more years in public schools followed by ten successful years at the college level. He been involved with the NBA at various levels for thirty-eight years and has been head coach of the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers, where he was Coach of the Year in 1995.  He became only the 19th NBA coach to win 500 regular season games in 1997.  His teams won over 540 games in just 12 full seasons.  He is currently Vice President of the Texas Legends team in the NBA Development League, the Mavericks minor league affiliate. He has coached the national teams of Puerto Rico, Canada, the United States, Dominican Republic and China.  He was the first foreign head coach of the national team of China for the 2004 Olympics, guiding them to the best performance in their history, where they eliminating the at the time World Champion Serbia to gain entry to the medal round.

He is the author of many basketball coaching articles and three coaching books as well as a sports novel for young readers. His latest book, On Point—Four Steps To Better Life Teams, has achieved much acclaim for its theories on the topic of Teambuilding. In addition he is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, having appeared in various television and movie productions, including the iconic movie, Space Jam.
He is a member of five Halls of Fame, including the Indiana Basketball Hall and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Hall, Earlham College,  Milligan College, and his hometown of Plainfield, Indiana. He has been nominated for consideration to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

About Scott Flemming Indian Senior Men’;s National Team Head Coach
Scott Flemming is currently the Head Coach of Indian Senior Men’;s National Basketball Team. He brings along with him over 30 years of collegiate and professional coaching experience in the United States. During his career, Flemming has earned two National Coach of the Year awards
Prior to joining BFI, Flemming was the Assistant Coach of the Texas Legends in the NBA Development League, where he often served as the acting Head Coach, leading both current and future NBA players. He has also served as the Men’;s Head Coach and Athletic Director at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio. During his years with the Cougars, Flemming compiled an overall record of 397-226 (.64 winning percentage) – the most wins of any coach in the program’;s 40-year history.

The Basketball Federation of India or BFI is the governing and controlling body of basketball in India, and is responsible for the development and promotion of the sport at all levels. BFI has been involved in conducting camps, clinics, events, and training sessions at its academies for the development of basketball.
