Assault on LNG terminal in Yemen leaves 5 dead

An attack by militants with alleged Al-Qaeda links on Balhaf liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal on early Sunday morning resulted in deaths of a guard and four Yemeni soldiers keeping the watch on the site. The soldiers were killed while sleeping. The militants fled the scene of the crime in a vehicle. The $4.5 billion gas facility in the southern Shabwa province is jointly managed by Yemen LNG and France's Total. Local authorities believe the terminal is one of the primary targets for local; Al-Qaeda branch which is on war path taking revenge for 15 militants killed over three last day by airstrikes from American UAVs.
