Nik Wallenda began to walk slowly on the metal tightrope about 60 meters in the air from the US side of Canadian Falls on Friday.Canadian Falls, the largest of the 3 waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls, separate the United States and Canada.

Challenged by sprays of water, Wallenda walked more than 500 meters on the tightrope. He reached the Canadian side of the falls about 30 minutes after he started.Loud cheers rose from crowds of tourists who watched Wallenda's challenge on both sides of the falls.

US TV networks broadcast live the stunt, the first of its kind over Niagara Falls since 1896.
Wallenda's family was been with circuses since the 18th century. He started tightrope walking in his childhood
