MMS to lead Indian delegation to G-20 summit

MMS to lead Indian delegation to G-20 summit

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will lead the Indian delegation to the G-20 summit beginning at Cannes in France on Thursday. External affairs ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said Dr. Singh will be assisted by the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the designated Indian Sherpa for the G-20. Our correspondent reports that the G20 summit this time takes place in the back drop of efforts to deal with the sovereign debt crisis in Greece and to check the imminent possibilities of spill over effects in the Euro zone area. Ahead of the Prime Minister's visit, New Delhi has welcomed the realism shown by the recent European Union Summit decision to assist Greek in its debt crisis.
