Lebanon to form new government
US embassy in Beirut on Tuesday urged all parties in Lebanon to uphold the country’s policy of disassociation from foreign conflicts, media reports.
Lebanon is forming a new government after Hezbollah and its allies won more than half the seats in Sunday’s election. “We urge all parties to uphold Lebanon’s international obligations, including those contained in UN Security Council Resolutions 1559 and 1701,” the diplomats said in a statement.
Sunday’s parliamentary election was the first in nine years. Hezbollah was the winner. The Shia Muslim party with a military wing which is backed by Iran won a small minority in parliament, and dealt a blow to Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who is supported by predominately Sunni Saudi Arabia.
Hariri is expected to form the next government, despite his party losing a third of its seats. It remains the largest Sunni bloc in parliament.
The resolutions relate to the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Lebanon and the disarmament of all militias including Hezbollah. Lebanon with rampant, Corruption, regular power cuts, town rubbish piling up on the streets, daily migrants adding from Syria are the challenges faced by the Prime Minister Saad Hariri,

Deep Rooted Fraud plaguing Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India,AKFI
Single Family controlling AKFI for last 28 years
New Delhi, May 9: Deep routed fraud has been plaguing the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India as the Federation is under control of single family for last 28 years. AKFI is being run as a private property of Mr Janardan Singh Gahlot and his family as they have misused and looted national fund for their personal gains.
‘The Federation stands taken over by one family for a period of over 28 years, firstly by Mr J S Gahlot as President for 21 years, after him by his wife Dr Mridul Bhadauria Gahlot (Full time Gynaecologist in Jaipur) and thereafter by their son Mr Tej Pratap (an engineer by profession),” observed Delhi Court in its order dated January 30, 2018.
“There has never been any election for any posts in the Managing Committee of Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India and the office bearers have always been appointed unopposed for consecutive terms. Even when National Sports Code of India bars anybody above 70 years to hold any position, Mr J S Gahlot called a Special General Body Meeting and got himself appointed as Life President by changing the minutes of the Association and AKFI Constitution,” Legal expert and Supreme Court lawyer Bharat Nagar said.
“There is a racket flourishing where non-players pay Rs 40 – 50 lakh and are allowed to participate in International Kabaddi events. And people receive handsome prize of Rs 2 crore / Rs 1 crore from the government when the team wins Gold or Silver medal,” Mahipal Singh National Kabaddi player, who filed the petition against AKFI in Delhi High Court.
It is such a sorry state at AKFI where players over the age of 40 are still playing where young players are not given a chance. The records clearly state the date of birth of most of the players at the national level is in 1980s. Even close relatives of the President were allowed to play for India directly in international tournaments without any prior participation in national events.
In its verdict in the matter of BCCI v/s Cricket Association of Bihar, the Supreme Court said that any politician, bureaucrat, who are not concerned with particular game should not be allowed to sit on such posts to control the affairs relating to the game. In this context the affairs in AKFI is really alarming.
