ACT NOW!

Journalist and human rights activist Prashant Rahi was arrested on 1 September 2013 on suspicion of having links with a banned organization. He is being held in police custody in Aheri, Maharashtra state, and is at imminent risk of torture or other ill-treatment.
On 14 August, India’s Supreme Court upheld its rejection of Devender Pal Singh Bhullar’s commutation plea. He is now at risk of imminent execution. The mercy petitions of two other men were also rejected by the President in August, and reports suggest they could be executed on 22 August.
The implementation of the Nitaqat programme in Saudi Arabia is a reminder of why we need to build a new era of safe migration from India to countries in the Middle East, one founded on the rights of all migrants to live and work with dignity.
We migrated to Saudi Arabia in search of employment to escape poverty, educate our children and support our families in the hope of a brighter and more secure future. But our journeys have often been filled with deception, exploitation and abuse of our rights.
We are often recruited with promises of decent and well-paying jobs, and given false information about working conditions, wages, and type of work. We are lied to about the conditions we will live in, the places we will work in and even the people we will work for.
Sign the petition by NCDHR (National Campaign On Dalit Human Rights)
We cannot let this incident be brushed aside by the administration and let the culprits get away with this horrendous crime. They needs to be identifies and proper investigation has to be carried out. The Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes PL Punia and Mamta Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women can take immediate steps to ensure the victim's body is brought to AIIMS for postmortem, the case is investigated by CID and justice delivered to the family.
We are writing to ask you to drop all charges against Soni Sori and Lingaram Kodopi and release them immediately and unconditionally.
Soni Sori and Lingaram Kodopi are Adivasi activists who have been in detention in Chhattisgarh since 2011. They are accused of working with armed Maoists.
These charges are false and politically motivated, and are intended to silence their non-violent activism.
We consider Soni Sori and Lingaram Kodopi to be prisoners of conscience who have been arrested solely for questioning human rights violations committed by your government.
