Forest Hills Golf Resort, Karoran, Mohali, September 12, 2013: NoidaⳊArjun Singh Chaudhri claimed his third professional title with a remarkable come-from-behind victory at the Forest Hills Golf Resort in Karoran situated in Mohali district of Punjab. Chaudhri posted a one-over-71 in the third and final round to total three-under-207 at the third event of the 2013 PGTI Feeder Tour season. DelhiⳠHoney Baisoya carded an even-par-70 on Thursday to finish as the runner-up at one-under-209.

Arjun Singh Chaudhri (65-71-71), who enjoyed an overnight three-shot lead, had a terrible start to the day as he bogeyed the second, fifth and eighth due to some poor hitting. He thus conceded a two-shot lead to Honey Baisoya at the end of nine holes. The 34-year-old Chaudhri then rallied with a birdie on the 10th and a good par-save with a chip-putt on the 12th. Arjun was back on level terms with Baisoya after the latter three-putted for bogey on the 13th.

Chaudhri, the 2011 PGTI Feeder Tour Order of Merit champion, hit a purple patch on the 15th, 16th and 17th to establish a two-shot lead. He made an excellent chip-putt from 50 yards for a par-save on the 15th and then landed his approach from 200 yards to within two feet for birdie on the 16th. Arjun all but sealed the title after converting a 10-feet birdie putt on the 17th. Baisoya title hopes were dashed when he hit it Out of Bounds (OB) on the 18th and bogeyed the hole. Although, Chaudhri also bogeyed the last hole, he cruised to a comfortable two-shot win at the end.
Arjun has now won two out of three events staged in the 2013 Feeder Tour season so far. He currently enjoys a lead of over Rs. 50,000 on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit for 2013. Chaudhri now also has the maximum number of wins (3) to his credit on the PGTI Feeder Tour along with Maniram Sharma of Karnal.

Chaudhri said, ㉊had a poor front-nine today but managed to turn things around on the back-nine. A couple of good par-saves on the 12th and 15th helped my cause. But the turning point of the day came on the 16th where I hit a brilliant second shot that landed within two feet of the pin and led to a birdie. I followed that up with a crucial birdie putt on the 17th.伯span>
༯span>
He added, ㉠was strong off the tee through the week and didnⴠhit it into trouble. My irons shots were sharp and I putted well under pressure. The layout at Forest Hills is quite challenging and winning here has really helped my confidence. My game is looking good at the moment and I⤠like to carry this form on to PGTIⳠmain tour with some big events coming up.

I would like to thank and give credit for my win to one of my closest friends, fellow professional and coach Mr. Shyam Vijay. Weⶥ put in a lot of work together towards improving my game,䠳aid Chaudhri.

Rookie Honey Baisoya (71-68-70), who was overnight second, enjoyed a two-shot lead at the turn but failed to capitalize on the back-nine and finally finished two strokes behind the winner in second position. His round included three birdies and three bogeys. Baisoya is currently second on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit.

Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh and KapurthalaⳠAshbeer Saini were tied third at two-over-212. PuneⳊMoniuddin Malak was a further shot back in fifth place.

ChandigarhⳠRajinder ended up sixth with a four-over-214 total while another Chandigarh golfer Ranjit Singh claimed tied seventh place along with Angad Cheema of Panchkula at six-over-216.

Harmeet Kahlon of Chandigarh secured tied 29th position with a three-day total of 15-over-225.

COMMUNAL POLARISATION in UTTAR PRADESH

13092013
Lucknow / Delhi, September 12 : Just when it appeared that Samajwadi Party government had handled the 84 Kosi Parikrama incident quite well and had emerged as a hero in the eyes of Muslims, Muzaffarnagar has happened. It has painted the government in a very bad light. There was communal tension in the air in Muzaffarnagar for more than ten days, Muslim leaders had already met Mulayam Singh and requested on September 1 for paramilitary forces to be posted there.
38 people are already dead, many more have been injured, thousands displaced and there has been huge loss of property. While Durga Shakti Nagpal was suspended because of a minor act which did not even succeed in provoking any communal feeling, we’re yet to see action against any high ranking official in Muzaffarnagar. Only two SHOs have been suspended. If a huge mahapanchayat is allowed to be held in which people came armed, when section 144 was in implementation, it shows complicity of administration. At what level the decision was taken to allow the mahapanchayat to be held? Obviously, it couldn’t have been the two suspended SHOs. Responsibility will have to be fixed and action taken against guilty officer(s).
The meeting was dominated by BJP leaders who gave provocative speeches. Sangh parivar played a crucial role in mobilisation. It couldn’t have been BKU alone. Currently the BKU can’t possibly organise farmers on their own issues in such a large number. Why would the farmers assemble on a communal issue? It couldn’t have happened without the communal machinery of RSS at work. The question is when the Sangh parivar leaders are clearly identified, who added fuel to fire, why are they being spared? What is the Samajwadi party government afraid of?
While communal riots have taken place earlier also in this SP regime but none was so bad as this one in terms of giving the rioters free hand and clear involvement of BJP leaders. Is it a coincidence that the communal atmosphere has suddenly worsened since the arrival of Narendra Modi on national scene? It is a speculation that Modi was testing the waters in Ayodhya through the 84 Kosi parikrama. It became clear very soon that Ayodhya issue can’t be milked any more in the same manner as in post-masjid demolition phase. But the 84 Kosi parikrama did serve the purpose of charging the cadre. Now the energies of this cadre have been used in Muzaffarnagar.
The polarisation has been complete. Some of the traditional vote bank of Ajit Singh has shifted to BJP, at least for the time being and possibly till next election. Mulayam Singh’s calculation may be that while his rival RLD would weaken, the gain for BJP may not be enough to convert into seats. He, of course, is still counting on counter-mobilisation of Muslims in his favour. This strategy of weaken your rivals to strengthen oneself may backfire if things go out of control as they look at this moment in Muzaffarnagar.
It is sad that parties like SP and BJP have brought back the politics of riots full fledged. They are playing with fire while people pay a price with their lives.
We strongly condemn the communalisation of politics and hope that people will teach a lesson to the parties indulging in this in the next elections.

Babubhai Bokhiriya Challenges Congress’ lies

13092013
Babubhai Bokhiriya Challenges Congress’ lies meant to instigate the farmers in Gujarat

*********

  • 40 years of Congress rule had ruined the farmers and agriculture in the State
  • Congress took away fertile and pastoral land from farmers paying dirt cheap price for those lands
  • Central Government has shown its malicious intent by putting on hold the Kharif crop insurance scheme’s rightful claims of Gujarat farmers
  • Chief minister Narendra Modi’s rule has doubled the agriculture electricity connections to farmers as against those 40 years rule of Congress
  • Compared to Congress rule BJP government has offered cheaper and timely electricity supply to the farmers
  • Congress is committing a crime by delaying the Narmada Yojana, critical project for meeting the drinking and irrigation water needs of the State

AgricultureMinister Babubhai Bokhiriya today took strong exception against the blatant lies spread by the Congress leadership against the BJP government of Gujarat. Enumerating various instances of atrocities unleashed by Congress Chief Ministers and governments of past on the Gujarat farmers he said that Congress government had even resorted to firing on the farmers which resulted into loss of lives of severalinnocent farmers. Farmers can never forget how pitiful conditions the Congress governments caused for the innocent farmers who raised voice against the government for poor state of farmers and farming.
Challenging the opposition Congress leader and the Congress spokespersons the agricultureministersaid the farmers were living under miserable conditions during Congress rule. But the government of the Chief Minister Narendra Modi, since past 12 years, is taking care of even minutest issues that are in interests of farmers and farming.
He said, “The presentstategovernment has organized Vibrant Gujarat GlobalAgriculture Summit for the first time in the country and provided platformto the farmers all 543 districts of all the states of India. Thousands of progressive farmers have thronged the summit responding to the invitation of BJP government.”
Mr. Bokhiriya said the unprecedentedvolume of farmers and the trust they have put on the BJP government have spoiled the sleep of Congress. Farmers of Gujarat gave theirmandateto the ChiefMinister Narendra Modi and made him win for four continuous terms which has devastated Congress utterly in Gujarat. “Similarly, now by making the Vibrant Gujarat GlobalAgriculture Summit a success the farmers have given a signal that they will do the same to Congress across the country. Congress is toiling in vain to save itself from this disappointment”, he said.
Minister Mr. Bokhiriya one by one exposed the blatant lies spread by the Congress leadership to instigate farmers. He said that congress ruled central UPA government have delayed payments of monsoon (Kharif) crop insurance scheme of Gujarat farmers and trying to disgrace the state government by creating impediments in the payment of farmer’s money.
All the crop insurance scheme related details including premium subsidy details have already been sent to the concerned agriculture insurance company. Chief Minister Narendra Modi led government has already made provision of Rs. 963 crore in this year’s budget under as a duty of state to pay crop insurance for the farmers. But, without any discussion or consent of the state government, the Congress government at Centre had disposed of the case taking one-sided decision of by imposing area discrepancies factor. This decision was against farmer’s interest and thus it is not agreeable to state government. It is the duty of the Centre to reconsider this case and to see to it that crop insurance money is paid to the farmers with immediate effect. So many letters have been written by the agriculture minister in this regard but Centre has not taken it seriously, Mr. Bokhiriya said.
With challenging the blatant lie of the Opposition that the numbers of farmers are decreasing in Gujarat, Mr. Bokhiriya said that as per the Census 2011 of Government of India, the number of registered farmers in Gujarat has increased from 42,39,242 in year 2001 to 47,38,188 in 2010-11. He said, “Is the Opposition trying to prove Central government data wrong?” In reality, as per the numbers declared by the Central Government, 2,500 farmers are quitting farming and this is because of the anti-farmer policies of the Congress ruled Centre, the minister said.
Referring the famine periods of Gujarat and ills done by the then Congress rule, Mr. Bokhiriya said, “Congress is guilty of selling off state’s pastoral lands. The documented information is clear that from 1985 to 1990, Congress rule had given away 94% of pastoral land as against total uncultivated land. Of this, 32% of pastoral land belonged to farmers and reserved for animals belonging to Maldhari community, which was snatched away from them.” Congress has destroyed pastoral land in the state by giving it away for some other objectives, said the minister, adding that as against this Mr. Modi’s government has been able to increase the pastoral land by 6800 hectares during year 2001 to 2012.
Minister Mr. Bokhiriya said, “It was Congress governments who took away the fertile land from farmers in the name of industries. How come the sowing areas of 92.96 lakh hectares in year 1980 become 37 lakh hectares during Congress rule? In last 12 years, the sowing area has increased by 37 lakh in Gujarat.” Under chief minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for developing agriculture sector, farmers have put total faith in with schemes like Krushi Mahotsav and water management and it has made possible agriculture growth over 10% for last one decade.” State’s agriculture produce has increased from Rs 14,000 crore to 1,11,000 crore and it has duly been accepted by Planning Commission and received praise from well-known agriculture experts.
Furthermore the agriculture minister said that opposition leaders in Gujarat are misleading the farmers spreading lies and ignores to admit that it was Congress under whose tenure the dark-zone were imposed. He said, “BJP government has lifted such dark zones and thus the water management has become turning point. Water harvesting has increased ground water table by 13 meters and Narmada canal and Sujalam Sufalam scheme has taken the irrigation waters to interior farmlands.” This fact has been recognized by present Congress government at Centre. It will be surprising of the Opposition is unaware of Congress rule of decades that wasted water letting it go into sea and it is Mr. Modi’s  government which has made good use of water by implementing comprehensive management system.
“If gates are put on Narmada dam, 75% of its water could be used for the irrigation purpose. But Prime Minister of Congress ruled government at Centre is delaying the permission despite being aware of this fact. It is being deliberately done so that the present BJP government in Gujarat is deprived of its success and subsequent credit. The delay in granting a technical permission for the gates at Narmada dam is done at the cost of farmer’s interest. The ongoing construction of canal work on a war footing basis in Saurashtra was stopped under the pretext of assembly election code of conduct despite the fact that work was undertaken by the state government because of the delayed monsoon”, said Mr. Bokhiriya. He said farmers are not going to forget these sins of Congress.
The agriculture minister said, “From year 1960-2000 the number of agriculture electricity connections given were 6.65 lakh. For last 12 years, this government has given 3,87,273 new connections for agriculture sector, which becomes almost two fold of those 40 years work.” Year 2011-12 saw granting of new connections of 70,000 while year 2012-13 witnessed approval of 97,459 connections and till July 2013, government has given another 23,000 new connections.
Mr. Bokhiriya said, “Farmers of Gujarat are not going to be carried away by the false propaganda of Congress trying to instigate them using power connection issues. Congress rule in the state had charged 58 paisa per unit of electricity supply and today Centre’s wrong power policies has made electricity cost touch Rs 4.41 but Gujarat is providing electricity to farmers at 49 paisa per unit.” Gujarat farmers know the truth and will never believe these lies of Congress, said Mr. Bokhiriya.
