As we look forward to the rest of the week ahead, we bring you some news from our side of the world to add to your list of exciting to-dos and must visits in the coming months. So, there is the first look at the programme schedule for JUMPSTART 2016 and this will tell you all that we have been working hard to organize at this year’s children’s content congress, for both its Delhi and Bangalore editions in August. And then, taking the theme forward, we bring you all that’s new and worth a check out at Frankfurt Book Fair’s dedicated area for kids and young adult media. So go ahead, plan your participation and let us know if you need help with it.
Enjoy your read!

FOCUS: CHILDREN’S CONTENT & MEDIA AT FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2016
|
|
|
|
If you are a children’s book publisher or a game developer or an app company working in the tiny tots domain, then you will find your next business opportunity in the considerable area and attention dedicated to children’s and young adult media at the Frankfurt Book Fair. This is an area which is colourful, exciting and a "must visit" for anyone involved or interested in the children’s book community. Along with exhibition opportunities, there are many seminars and networking events held during the entire Fair which give insight into the "future of reading", what children’s book markets in other countries are doing, and much more. This is also the area where you can meet children’s book publishers, agents, digital service providers, illustrators, authors, and others.
So, Hall 3.0 is the centre of the KIDS universe at Frankfurt Book Fair, every year. Here, you’ll find the stand displays of renowned German-language publishers such as Oetinger, Loewe, Beltz among others, as well as large and small exhibitors, from the domain of children’s publishing, from Russia, Spain, Italy, Asia and many other countries. From Wednesday to Friday, on the Kids' stage, there are many professional events organised on various topics concerning children’s content, and on the weekend well-known authors give public readings. All in all this is a very happening area of the Fair. Apart from exhibiting opportunities, you can also check out the following highlights-
The Illustrators’ Corner, in the immediate vicinity of the Children’s Book Centre, is a contact point for illustrators and publishers. Portfolio advice from experts, rights advice for illustrators, glimpses into German and international portfolios – here, you’ll find the right contact person for all these things every day.
Tours for Inside and outside Hall 3.0 help you to understand the children’s and young adult community at the Frankfurt Book Fair. As group size is limited, so we request you to register as soon as possible to ensure your participation. Starting summer 2016 you can get further information on the tours here.
NEW: The Children’s Room of the Future
This is where products from the world of early childhood experience will take centre stage at the world’s largest book and media fair. At the heart of the Kids’ Community, the Children’s Room of the Future in Hall 3.0 is going to be the new hub for discovering innovative products and media for pre- and primary-school-aged children.
At FBM 2016, you can visit the five children’s rooms on the following themes:
- Reading and listening
- The ecological children’s room
